MINNOWS
Minnows must be able to:
-
Swim one lap of the pool freestyle with side breaths
-
Swim one lap of the pool backstroke
-
Demonstrate beginning knowledge of breastroke and butterfly
MINNOWS requirements to move to BRONZE:
-
Swim 12 lengths Freestyle
-
Swim 4 lengths Backstroke
-
Demonstrate knowledge of Breaststroke and Butterfly
-
Dive from the edge of the pool
BRONZE requirements to move to SILVER:
-
Legal Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke & Butterfly
-
Legal turns in all strokes
-
Dive from a the starting block
-
Swim 6 X 50's on the 1:20 minute interval
-
Swim a 100 IM
-
Understand the concept of "intervals" and able to use the swim clock
-
Participate in a USA sanctioned swim meet
-
knowledge of distances (i.e. 50 yards = 2 lengths of the pool etc...)
SILVER requirements to move to GOLD:
-
Legal Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke & Butterfly
-
Legal turns
-
Starts
-
4 X 100 on the 1:45 minute interval
-
swim 100 yards of each stroke without stopping
-
500 yard freestyle swim without stopping
-
Swim 200 yard Freestyle in a USA sanctioned meet
-
Swim one Long-Course Swim Meet and 2 Short Course sanctioned Swim Meets within a swim season.
GOLD requirements to move to SENIOR:
-
10 100'S on the 1:30 minute interval
-
Swim 500 yard Freestyle in a sanctioned Swim Meet
-
Swim a 400 IM in a sanctioned Swim Meet
