TTST Reservation Policy 6/9/09:

  • All current members in good standing will have the opportunity to reserve a spot for the next (summer) session by placing a $100 non-refundable deposit the registrar by a specified date before the end of the current session.

After that date we will pull names from the waiting list in order by group (ie. If you are first on the list but you are in a group that is full we go to the next person but you remain at the top of the list for when a spot in your group opens up). Accepted wait list people will have one week to place a non-refundable $100 deposit to reserve their spot for the next session. After one week we go to the next person on the list.

Waiting list priorities:

  • “One Session Swimmers” trying to get on permanently
  • Siblings of members in good standing
  • Waiting list by group, by date placed on waiting list

Waiting list stipulation: If your name comes up on the waiting list and you are unable to swim that session you are moved to the bottom of the waiting list.

If we have not reached capacity by 11/17/08 we will hold tryouts and accept deposits from new members (not on the waiting list).

Leave of Absence

If a current member decides to take one session off but plans on swimming the following session (ie. Swim in the fall, take the winter off, and swim in the spring), he or she can place a $100 deposit toward that session (spring) and fill out a leave of absence form before the cutoff date. The reason we need such early notice is that potentially we’ll need to tell new members that they are only assured a spot for one session, in this case winter. The “one session swimmer” status will be applied to the last swimmers in each group that are accepted onto the team. For example, if we have one bronze taking the winter off, the last bronze to be added to the team would have “one session swimmer” status and would not be assured a spot in the spring unless someone else dropped off. The swimmer who has placed the deposit will be assured a spot in the spring as long as they pay the balance in full by the 5 th calendar day of the spring session. If they have not paid by that date we will assume they’ve changed their mind and pull from the waiting list (if there is one). The deposit will only be refunded if we are able to fill the spot. Swimmers may only take one consecutive session off to keep their spot. If they are going to miss two consecutive sessions they need to pay in full for one of the sessions if they want to guarantee their spot. This policy will allow a swimmer to swim every other session and still ensure their spot on the team. Swimmers who have been given a one session slot in the winter will be first in line should a spot open up for the spring.

Procedure

  1. After the deposit deadline the registrar will provide the coach with a list of returning swimmers who have placed deposits for the winter session.
  2. The coach will return the list to the registrar broken down by groups.
  3. Based on group availability the registrar will offer spots to people on the waiting list in the following order: 1. One session swimmers 2. Siblings 3. Waiting list
  4. Waiting list people will have one week to get their deposit in before we go to the next person on the waiting list.
  5. If we still have spaces after going through the waiting list we’ll open it up to the public for tryouts.
